: How do you get glass out?

I'm planning on taking out the door, quarter, and vent glass out of my 67. The body shop got primer and paint on them. What I want to do is remove them, clean them up and get them tinted( I don't like the idea of young kids having access to a hp car at Ziebart). My question is, since glass is so delicate and very expensive, how do I get these out without damaging the glass?
Thanx

I have only removed the door glass in my 67. After removing the interior panel, roll the window all the way down. Looking into the door, you will see a horizontal bar that is attached to the bottom frame of the window. Remove the two phillips screws and the window glass and bracket should be loose. I recomend removing the window fuzzies at the top edge of the outside and inside door panels. IT takes a little finesse but the glass should come out relatively easy.

oops--forgot the limit tabs as noted below. Thanks choptop. This is a good time to adjust to get the perfect fit for the window and the weatherstiping.

Fun fun fun! I just got done pulling and reinstalling all the door/ quarter glass from my 68, so hopefully it is similar on your 67.

The door glass is not so bad. Remove the door panel, loosen all the track adjusting bolts (2 near the end of the door, 2 near the front of the door - at the top of the tracks.) You will also have to remove the upper and lower limit stops (look inside the opening just below the track bolts). Then remove the nuts on the bar as in the above post. Pull the bar off the bolts and the window should slide up the tracks.

Quarter windows are a little tricky. Remove the panels and rubber seals/ vents on the door jamb and window slot. You may have to get the rear seat out to avoid stressing the panels and gain access to one nut. There are three nuts that need to be removed, two in "7" shaped grooves near the window sill, and one in a slot by the rear seat bottom. Once these nuts are off, gently push the window track toward the quarter panel until the bolts come out of the three slots. Now you can partially roll down the glass and manuever the small roller out of the track (rear of the glass) by angling the glass. Do not drop the glass! Grab the peak of the glass with one hand, pull up and manuever the rollers off the main track. The window should come right out.

This is a good time to lube the tracks (can be removed through the triangular opening in the panel) and check the gears.

Installation is basically these operations in reverse.

You may want to get a body manual for 67 to help locate some of these adjusters etc.

Hope this helps, good luck!
