Hey,

How many of you racers out there are running leaf springs without using perch pads? The reason I ask is I have a problem with my right rear slipping out of the spring tab. It slips backward. Thanks Andy

Guys do run w/o rubber or poly pads, but I figure why???

If it is a mono-leaf spring you have lost the little locating "tit" on it's bottom.

If you have multi-leaf's, you need to check and see if the bolt-head on top and nut on the bottom of the center bolt are still there.

I say this b/c mono's locate by the little bottom "tit" and multi's locate both top and bottom by the bolt-head and nut...

And 3-leaf mono replacement springs have a top 45 degree countersunk head, 5/16" bolt and a bottom nut...

A set of John Calverts split mono springs and a set of his Cal-Tracs will solve all your problems!

You will really like the perf. out of Johns products. Actually his product is a spin-off from the mid 60's There was a company famous for shifters and stereos called Spark o Matic that had the first adjustable type traction bars. No real spring technology then. I dont know what shocks you are going to use but the QA-1's seem to work well with Cal-Trac products. good luck.

Hey, weather must be nice there,, I grew up around that area. As for the pads on multileaf, there is or should be a round tubing sleeve that drops down into the poly pad, to help you relocate the spring eye bolt. I believe you have to have these pads to help take up the space or change perches.

Using the poly pads w/ GM multi leaf perches, caused my preload to change, and go into severe wheel hop.
This bent one slide-a-link, bent both leaf springs and took out my rear gear.
