CorkyE Dec 31st, 06, 08:44 PM The 1st gen guys will chime in but - I tend to skip any auction that has a good looking "hood ornament" in the first pic, that's just me. I did notice the heater hoses looped back, which could indicate a bad heater core. I would certainly want eyes on before buying. IMHO
67 RSS Dec 31st, 06, 09:13 PM I dont know what its worth but 14k seems fair relative to others Ive seen here. Someone butchered the quarters and added 68 side marker lights and maybe same in front, unless they are a sticker. This is hard to overlook IMO. I think there was a late 67 someone had earlier posted that thought this was done in factory...??
Pass door looks like it doesnt fit well at rocker and dented? Trunk looks rusty as does some areas underneath. Glove box door is 68 or modified with script. Dekluxe seats gone bummer...has the 12 bolt so some likelihood of being an SS if original. Headlight mechanisms missing...

kz1000ltd Dec 31st, 06, 09:27 PM Lot of things "wrong" with the car, but the chick is hot..........:D:D:D
3forme Dec 31st, 06, 09:30 PM late 67 with marker lights? No way.
BERRY251 Dec 31st, 06, 09:31 PM Wonder if the chick comes with it?
jsouthco68camaro Dec 31st, 06, 09:32 PM Lane,- Wow...I didnt even catch the marker lights..Puts up a red flag right away..... Is it possible this was a late 67 factory flub? I find that a little hard to swallow myself.....
Everett#2390 Dec 31st, 06, 09:33 PM No seat belts.
Non-stock seat covers.
Should include headliner.
Front license plate bracket should be black.
Has 68 marker lights.
Aftermarket audio system.
Probably needs a heater core.
Awfully big front tire for not having power steering.
Needs body bushings.
Chrome glovebox cover or just a glossy black?
Check glovebox for clutch pedal pad.
Car was red at one time.
Not a 67 Muncie transmission - speedometer cable on wrong side for 67.
Stock 5/16 inch OD steel fuel line replaced with 3/8 steel fuel line.
Alum heads - good.
Intrenal regulated alternator - good.
Overall, I think a good buy, but, it has Cal-Tracs, aftermarket parts, no clutch pedal pad, leads me to believe its had a hard life, but then, hasn't every 1st Gen? Its not a complete restoration, but a body shop frame-on resto.
Optional waxer shown?
mstehle Dec 31st, 06, 09:55 PM Wonder if the chick comes with it?
For a little extra. Have to disagree with the "Chick is hot" statement. Maybe a little warm but definitely not a hottie. There are a lot of things wrong with the car as others have observed. I wouodn't go much, if any, over the current bid.
67 RSS Dec 31st, 06, 11:31 PM I don't believe any evidence of the late 67 marker light thing..just pointing out that someone else claimed it as so on another car here....seems like a year or so ago..
My speedo cable comes out passenger side of 4spd muncie..had the pleasure of putting it in today...someone suggested powdered graphite for lube- sure freed mine up!...

That chick is probably the guy's daughter. Looks to be about 15 to me. Definitely NOT street legal.

And your point is? I said she was hot, not that I was going to check her ID and then rape her accordingly.

Mark,
I see your from Rochester..hadnt noticed that before. And if it is his daughter shame on him for dressing her like that to try and sell a car. And FWIW.. she looks pretty hot to me and older than 15 as well. :D
SCHOON Jan 1st, 07, 08:22 AM Car looks like a money pit!
I would not go over the present bid.
Good luck!

Its definately been had..... and on a car like this a look is worth a thousand words. The only true way to evaluate this car is looking at it in person. Buying a car like this without seeing it first is a good way to have one of those terrible EBAY stories we all read about. It very well may be a decent car, but its a 15k gamble without viewing it first.
JMO of course....

kz1000ltd Jan 1st, 07, 09:07 AM I can't stand a car with Z/28 stripes and SS hood ornaments. As Larry the Cable Guy would say, it's just like wipin' before you poop, just don't make any sense! :D:D:D

15K for an RS/SS driver seems like a good deal IMO, but this car is being sold by a "classic" dealer...I'd be very wary of anything he said or wrote...
I mean, c'mon he dressed his daughter up skimpy and had her pose in the ad! What wouldn't he do?
Brentmc Jan 1st, 07, 09:20 AM Advice--don't buy the car unless you see it first and like it in person. Pictures hide much of the important things you should be looking for.
The hood ornament should not be in the ad--slimy promo attempt using a 1/2-dressed teen that could be most of our daughters or grandaughters. Leave the kids out of the ads and focus on the cars.
jsouthco68camaro Jan 1st, 07, 11:13 AM Thanks for the input guys.... I would never buy a car without seeing in person first. Just wanted to see what all of you see in it before I decide to take the trip and go see.
Thanks again.
olympic69 Jan 1st, 07, 11:59 AM Looks like multi leafs on the rear ('67..?), and the pinion seal may be leakin as well. Certainly not necessarily deal killers, but more comments / scrutiny for the buyer.

BonzoHansen Jan 1st, 07, 01:14 PM Current bid is US $14,600.00 and reserve is not met yet. I wonder what it is. Those seat covers are bad – I take it they are just some local shop deal, right?
OK, am I the only one to notice the girl wearing the same outfit (same girl?) as the girl in sc68z28's car pics (http://www.camaros.net/forums/showpost.php?p=695066&postcount=45)?

For a second, I thought his Camaro was in the pic, but the one in the pic appears to be a 69: http://i15.ebayimg.com/03/i/000/81/61/a485_3.JPG
Coincidence? Probably, since he's in Cali and the ebayer is in Wisconsin. :)
Edit: My 67 currently has that same silly steering wheel. :clonk:
1969 RS/SS DROPTOP Jan 1st, 07, 01:46 PM $18,725 "buy now"
67FamilyFun Jan 1st, 07, 02:05 PM $18,725....It'll sell...
However, I'm surprised that a "classic" car dealer selling on the Internet would only post trim tag info and not a pic of the trim tag...
The side markers are weird...so either it's been hit from the rear and had 68 qtrs on it and possibly an RS tail panel added...or someone decided it was cool?
Deserves a combing over if purchasing for the RS/SS aspect...IMO
Bonzo...same outfit...different girl...or was that a joke? I'm slow...

ScottI'm just playing. :D
BTW, your car is printed out & hanging in my garage as inspriation. Mine will look a lot like that, but Tahoe Turq. instead.

Thanks! You brought a tear to my eye. Told my wife what you said, and she raised her eyebrow with a, "Your car?!" She's no longer in the circle.
I've been looking for an 8x10 glossy of Buck for my garage...I'm not sure why...
