: Which rocker studs?

I'm installing a set of Scorpion roller rockers for 7/16 studs on my 355 with Trick Flow heads. I now have 3/8 rocker studs that came with the heads.

I didn't think that getting new studs would be this confusing. . For 3/8 stud they say "with roller rockers" , but for the 7/16 studs, part number 134-7103, they say "typical small block application". Then they list another part number 100-7101, which says "with roller rockers and girdles"

I will not be using a girdle. :D

Can someone steer me in the right direction?

Here is a link to ARP studs: http://www.arp-bolts.com/Catalog/Catalog.PDF/ARPCatalog_0046.pdf

IIRC, studs that are specifically designed for girdles will be a tad bit taller.

Mike,
The main thing you need to be concerned with is the length of the top part of the stud. Sometimes its hard to know exactly which one to get without having one to try first. You might be safe getting a stud with the same dimensions as the ones that came on the heads, but you never know. It depends on how the center of the rocker arm is designed, and the type of polylock they use.

See if someone can loan you a big block Chevy stud to try. Then you can see how the rocker sits on it, and how much thread area you have for the poly lock. Go from there to order what you need.
