I need some opinions on what system to get. I am on a budget too. My BB is putting out about 450 HP with hooker competition headers. I don't need anything extreme however I don't want to hinder performance by choking the exhaust. Ebay has complete systems like Dynomax, Magnaflow with an X pipe and Flowmaster with H pipe. I noticed some of these have the single muffler that tucks up behind the rear seat and some have the dual muffs that hang down by the drive shaft. What are the pro's and cons of each. I would like to keep originality in mind meaning it would be nice to look somewhat original.
Thanks

What do you want out of the exhaust system. You should be able to find quite a bit of info doing a search of the forums on those systems.

Two mufflers vs the one transverse in front of the gas tank comes down to a couple of things.

Transverse mufflers: Pros. Allow the exhaust to be tucked up tighter. Matches factory look. Cons. Generally suffer in the performance department and is probably the number 1 reason most don't run them.

The other thing to consider is how loud of a system you want and how much interior reverberation you want/ can handle. Most of the companies make several different mufflers that effect this greatly. For example unless cruising in 6th gear my dynomax turbo mufflers are loud as hell in the car which I don't really care for.
