I have a 1996 z28 that idles just fine at startup. After driving it a bit it stumbles and idles down and often quits running. It usually idles down and quits running during deceleration. Is this a TPS problem or is there something else I am missing? The Chevrolet shop wasn't any help, so I 'm turning to the experts for answers. They charged me 50 bucks with no answers. Any help will be appreciated!
Thanks,

Well, if it runs ok otherwise, and the Service Engine Soon light isn't coming on while driving (other than when it stalls of course), I'd check the throttle body for carbon build-up.
It doesn't take much on the throttle plates to cause a stall.
It could be cleaned on the car if you're careful. Take the intake duct off the t-body and clean the blades/t-body on both sides with spray carb cleaner and a soft brush like a toothbrush. Obviously, try to keep crud out of the plenum.
Also, on the t-body, the IAC (Idle Air Control valve) should be taken out and the pintle cleaned, and it's passage in the t-body.
Really though, without scanning the systems, it's just a guess.
The dealer said they couldn't duplicate the problem, or did they even look at it?

I'm only guessing, but it seems all these Camaro's with an LT-1 engine have opti-spark problems. Here at team Camaro we are primarily a 1st generation site. Here are some links that may help you.
