i am wanting a power kit and these are the cheapest i have found. any info would be glady appreciated. i have 17in billet specialist wheels and wonder if i should pay the extra hundred or so for slotted rotors. thanks
wiskeesour Jan 8th, 07, 11:05 PM I would go with fatrodder, however I am considering matsclassicbowties(for me its becoming a logical choice he gaurantees his stuff), because what he sells he uses first. great guy, shoot him an email.
Strick Jan 8th, 07, 11:55 PM I have purchased from both. Matt's is a HANDS DOWN choice. Fatrodders parts are just o.k. and good luck trying to even get an e-mail back (especially after your purchase). Matt is readily available by phone when and if you need him. I plan on buying more from Matt.
I want to go further into this, because of Fatrodders poor communication tactics. I would pay 15 -20% MORE than buy from Fatrodder.
RamJam Jan 9th, 07, 12:35 AM All you need are the spindles $120, dust covers $45.00 and the Combo valve which is about $50.00. Everything else you can by at your local parts store. I got all the rest from National Auto and Advance Auto. Mast/cyl is about $50.00, Calipers are $30.00 a pc, Rotors are about $40.00 a pc, Pads $30.00 a set. You should save about $100.00 doing it this way plus if there is any prob with parts you can take them back locally, with exception of spindles, dust shields and Combo valve. Links below are all for reference.

Bryans68 Jan 13th, 07, 08:09 AM I second the opinion about fatrodder - three emails with a simple upgrade question - not one response yet. Over two weeks. Sales must be so good he doesn't need anymore business. I do not beg to give my money away.

Told Ya! :noway:
No service BEFORE the sale. Imagine what it is like AFTER the sale.

I'm confused. From the photo you posted on another thread, it looks like you have front discs already.
Matt has a real good rep, and is a member here.

Do you have any pictures of your set up you would send to me at eke_brown@yahoo.com? I'm especially interested in the rear.
Thanks
Joe G Jan 21st, 07, 10:40 AM Matt's all the way! Matt and Kim are good folks that stand behind their products. I've bought 3 sets for my 69 over the years (keep upgrading). The latest is the 13" Baer setup.
I've probably spent 25K with them over the years (don't tell Sharan!)

quikchevy Jan 24th, 07, 10:24 PM Sorry Joe, I think she already knows!!!
If you guys need pics Just Email, I can send over whatever tech info you need.
Just one quick suggestion (not a plug).....Compare what comes in every brake kit, check the warranty and the manufafcture...I promise there are differences. We pay A LOT more for our disc kits than others do!! Its for a reason!
Matt
Rich-Allen Jan 29th, 07, 07:37 AM My first project on my 67 is disc brakes. Until I read this thread I had no idea Matts Bowtie was less than 3 miles from my house!
I will be paying a visit to their shop very soon.
This site rocks!
