I noticed the rubber 'bushing' part on my front shocks look old and cracked. The part that can be seen from above. They probly need replacing. They are competition engineering adjustable shocks.

So a simple question, is there a manual or instructional available on how to change out front shocks?
Cuzzz uhhhhh I've never done it.......

pretty easy... The top has a VERY thin locknut, with a conventional nut below it. They make a tool that will get in there to turn the nuts but has a hole in it to drop a second tool down thru that will engage the flat spot on the top of the shaft and keep it from turning.

I never owned the tool tho.

You need to hold the shaft while undoing first the locknut then the main nut. If I'm not gonna reuse the shocks, I usually go in thru the spring with a pair of visegrips and grab the shaft down there.

If I am gonna reuse the shocks, I gotta grab the top of the shaft with the visegrips, and go under the a-arm with a box wrench to get the nuts off. Works best if the suspension is compressed.

Once the top nuts are off, just unbolt the bottoms and pull them out.

If the shock are good, you can buy just the bushings.
