1967 Camaro convertible

This car is clearly a driver (modified like a pro tour car in the making), which is what I want. The paint and interior are in good to very good condition.

Condition:
- Looks and runs great
- Int & ext good to very good, needs no work
- Good, clean interior with no rips or tears - all looks new or recent
- No rust issues on body, subframe, floors (new/replaced), trunk
- Fuel guage does not work

Factory specs & options:
- Not an RS or SS
- Green with black interior
- Power top (works)
- Deluxe interior
- 4-speed (no console)
- Manual steering & brakes

Aftermarket mods:
- Recent paint with black racing stripes added
- Nice aftermarket stereo and CD player (but speakers are in door panels)
- Steel cowl hood
- New front fenders (appear to be GM)
- New GM 350/300 hp w/ 5K miles, do not have original engine
- Edelbrock carb & intake, headers, HEI
- New radiator and core support
- New 2.5" aluminized exhaust & mufflers
- New Munice 4-speed, do not have original
- 15 x 8 Corvette ralley wheels with like new BFG 60-series radials
- Front disc brake and power brake conversion
- Subframe connectors
- Multi-leaf rear springs
- Rebuilt front end (tie rods, ball joints, a-frame bushings)
- 10 bolt spooled, axle ratio unknown
- Traction bars
- Hotchkis x-brace underneath
- Recent carpet with soundproofing and heat barrier added (per pics)
- Newer top with a 3" tear

I really like the car and have a price secured, just want to be sure I'm not overpaying. THANKS from the newbie! :hurray:

If it is solid, and what was replaced was done correctly (floors are a challenge to do right on a 1st gen vert), it sounds like it should be just on either side of $20K in today's market. Maybe more like $25K if well done, but without pictures it's really hard to say.

Are you sure it has a spool in the rear, and not just a posi unit? Spools are uncool on the street.

Thanks!

Everything on the car looks to be well done (no Bubba work). Underside of hood even has an insulation blanket. Current owner said the rear was spooled by the prior owner (likely a mod to the original non-posi rear). Pics of replaced floors look like they were done well.

Just make sure when you inspect it that the doors open and close okay, and don't appear to have a lot less gap at the top than at the bottom at the rear of the doors. If the car is allowed to rust too much, or the floors are replaced without the car being supported and braced correctly, the car can sag in the middle. Been there...

Also, if this is your first 1st gen vert, check and make sure all four body dampeners (aka cocktail shakers) are present (one in the trunk on each side, and one on the radiator support on each side). They are fluid reservoirs with a spring and a weight, to dampen body motion on the verts. They aren't reproduced, and tracking them down can be time consuming and expensive.

Thanks for the info, I was intending to ask the purpose of the infamous "cocktail shakers".

Drive it at slow speed over a set of RR tracks or a couple small speed bumps. Try to get one wheel at a time over it and see how wel the car reacts. Just my thoughts.

Value I would say $20k to $25k is about right if it is as nice as you say.

Thanks everyone and TTT. Current owner said all 4 cocktail shakers are there and plans to take more pics and a video of the car Friday!
