Does anyone know if the non-A/C heater box will fit completely over the whole in the firewall from where I had the A/C heater box?

If not is there a company that makes a cap/cover to close this whole?

What have others done when removing A/C from their cars?

No the opening in the firewall on an A/C car is about 2" taller than the non A/C engine side ductwork. A/C opening is about 6" wide by 8" tall, non A/C hole is 12" wide by 6" tall. You would need to weld in some metal to close the hole up.

No one that I know of makes a cap or cover. I welded in a patch panel a few days ago and cut out the shape of the non-air box. Also there is about four mounting holes that can be filled in and also there is a big hole (around 1 1/2" dia.) where the wires for the air came through the firewall. That needs to be covered as well.

Vintage Air make a cover that they include with their conversion kits. I think it's like $18 it's made of plastic and they will sell them seperate if you ask. I used silicone to hold mine in place. If anyone has an undamaged A/C box let me know..
