View Full Version : anybody bought aftermarket frames Dustypowers Jan 11th, 07, 08:27 PM i am debatting weather update my excisting to disc and tubular and new suspension or weather to just buy a complete front sub frame Blade Jan 12th, 07, 06:43 AM i have a complete tubular subframe. its not installed yet workin on that part. but if its truely needed then get it. but make sure that the reason for this is good because of the price of these things. Silver69Camaro Jan 12th, 07, 07:14 AM The only disadvantage is the cost. The biggest advantage you'll find is the ability to use killer high-end brakes (assuming a C5-type suspension is used), and very good geometry...geometry that even a modified stock Camaro IFS can't obtain. Also, they are much ligher, both sprung and unsprung. http://images14.fotki.com/v371/photos/4/453080/4377587/_MG_3310-vi.jpg?1165945891 And don't forget the extra engine room: http://images14.fotki.com/v371/photos/4/453080/4377592/_MG_4378-vi.jpg?1165944281 makoshark Jan 12th, 07, 04:04 PM Check with ATS, www.t56kit.com. They have some new products that are really great for stock subframes. They have some coilover mounts that attach to the existing stock upper mount. They have their new spindles out as well. All that with some tubular control arms I bet will give an aftermarket frame setup a run for it`s money and you`ll be coming out a lot cheaper. |
