Any chance this is a real 68 RS/SS?

Looking for this type of project car but am not expert enough to know if it is the real deal.

Looks fairly legit but I will tell you first hand that the money it will take to restore this car may very well exceede the value. To put it to you straight I would look at waiting until you find a better body to start the restore with. They do come up and for the money I think you can find a better starting point. Unless ofcourse you plan to do the restoration yourself. I actually have a line on a 68 ss396 with build sheet that has no rust any rust it had was replaced with gm sheetmetal it doesn't have the origional engine but does come with a date correct engine. Everything else is there this car can be bought for $12k it's in Nebraska

I'd bet anything this is the guy I bought my engine from. If it is I still have his number and could look at it if anyone is seriously interested in it. I'm not an expert in restos but have done it.

An SS396 would be better for me..it's more along the lines I am looking for. I'm not a body man by any means...it would be a "learning experience" for sure.

If you don't end up buying the SS in Nebreaska, let me know. My SS396 clone is almost complete and was looking to do a matching numbers "real" car.

Sounds like this car may be a bit over my head for the body work... :(

Thanks for the replies and your opinions. Can't think of a better bunch to folks to ask about this subject.
