I went to look at Ebay item number 130065754399 this morning, and I was curious as to what it should sell for. The reserve is still not met, and the bidding is at $15,100. The auction has less than 24 hours left. Here's what I saw, being as the pictures make it look better than it is. The car has been re-painted, but not a very good job. The trunk lid and the rear quarters has too much gap in between. The engine is supposedly the numbers matching 327 210HP, but it is leaking coolant from the thermostat housing. The interior is ok for a driver, but not great. The RS doors don't work, but everything appears to be intact. The last thing that really got me was that the car has California black plates, but on the front tag, I noticed the year in the upper right hand corner is '63. How would that be possible??? I've looked into this, and I've found that plates must be from the same year as the car, how could 1963 plates have ended up on this one?

All plates in that series have 63 stamped in them.
The letter number sequence looks correct for 1968.
You may be thinking of YOM plates (year of manufacture) which are not available for 1968. Check the dmv website for more info on YOM.
