As most people know, the high pressure connection on this type of pump is female. For some reason, all the OEM type replacement hoses have a female connector also. At Napa, they offer a universal hose also but it has a union at the female connector. They didn't have it in stock so I couldn't see what the union looked like nor could the counter guy find a connector that would work. I have no idea what the nomenclature is for the union in order for me to try to find one. I attached a pic of both hoses and one of the pump as well as the text for these items from the Napa site. Does anyone know any way to find out what this union/connector would be called or know any way to find one? I even checked with a Chevy dealer but they were no help. Thanks in advance if you can help.

Just ask for a 1974 Nova hose.
The 74 Nova hose uses a male pump end to fit the female pump.
First gen pumps should have male ends, your pump is a later one, it probably has the press-on pulley too. Proper first gen pumps have the male outlet and bolt on pulley, the first gen pulley shaft is a smaller OD.

What year is your car?
That is a 1970's pump.
Maybe you can find the nipple fitting for yours to convert it?
Or, if you want to change,
I have a few pumps laying around if you need.

69...all the pumps I've seen at auto supplies are just like it. I think I'm finished with this project since I found the adaptor. I am thinking of replacing my PS gear box (2-1/2 turns L to L close ratio) if you have a good one. Thanks, Joe

Not at my parts store. :)
If you need a gearbox, I have those too.

The picture above is from Rock Auto for a 69...and locally, Napa and a few others you may not recognize. Oh well.
Do you have a GB like the one I mentioned? Joe

2.5 turns - I will check this weekend.
Pretty sure I do.
