: Anybody bought any parts from this guy?

I am considering dropping a few hundred dollars with a guy on ebay for a few original parts for my car...the parts I am looking at purchasing are a starter, a fuel pump, and a coil. The guys name is Patrick Baker and he goes by Chevy-Pieces on Ebay. I think the name of his business is Goat Hill Classics. Has anyone dealt with him? I would like to hear some feedback on the quality of his parts and the experience as a whole. Thanks.

I don't know of this guy, but what is his feedback rating and comments on eBay? That should give you enough info to make a decision. Charlie

He has very little feedback as of now, but what is there is positive.

Just a thought here: What about testing the water, and just getting one part, to see how that goes. Or going through "pay pal"? Be careful!

Yeah, I thought about that...but the cheapest part would would be a little over $100...so I was hoping for some feedback...plus, he gives free shipping if you order 3 things from him, so I was kinda wanting to order everything at once.

Does he accept credit cards? If so use one and if you have problems I believe the charges can be reversed.

I agree, be careful. I sent a check to what was supposed to be a reputable business for an original "458" smog pump pulley. He sent me a repro, never returned my money or my calls. That's the one time I got nailed but it sticks with you.

So how is the quality of that repo pulley? I got a repo PS pump pulley and I am very happy with it...but I still need the smog pump pulley too.

Jason,
The repo pulley I bought appears excellent in quality and the stampings are very close to the originals. PM me if your interested, I don't need it any more.

I have never bought from him but he has been advertising in the NCRS Driveline for years. I would think if the guy was a scammer that the NCRS guys would not let him advertise, but that IMO.

I think he is probably okay, since he has 13 positive feedbacks, I was just hoping someone on here had dealt with him before. I will probably go ahead and place the order. I appreciate everyones response.

Pricey, but very nice.
My friend purchased a fuel pump at the Corvette & High Performance swap meet in Puyallup, Wa. (2004) Later upon building the motor we found that we purchased the pump with the incorrect outlet orientation. Goat Hill was very helpfull and gracious in dealing with, to resolve the issue.
Purchase with confidance.

Regards,
Jim

p.s. no afilliation to GH.

I've bought from him before, his prices are very high but you get what you pay for.His 105 p/s pulley is great,it looks perfect. The one's from Rick's,D+R,and other places are very different than OE.All of the products that he offers are high quality. The only bad thing about him is that he is a lot like Jim at HEARTBEAT CITY,somewhat hard to deal with.

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like an okay guy to deal with...which is what I wanted to know. I am very close to having all the pieces I need to get my car back together, so hopefully I will not have to play this part hunting game very much longer...although it is kinda fun sometimes.

I'd recommend that you only buy stuff from him when he's at a show so you have the part in your hand when you leave; horror stories abound from lots of Corvette guys who have ordered stuff from him by mail/phone/internet and have waited months for them, not got them at all, got the wrong parts, etc. It's Paul Baker, not Patrick. :(
