Depends on the date. If it's original it's worth more than a later "over the counter" replacement.

Date is 8 D 29. Is that correct? I thought date codes were letter and numbers.

"8 D 29" is April 29th, 1968. VERY early for 69. Since all Chevrolet V8 W/AC cars (except Corvettes) used this alternator, Delco must have started building them several months in advance.
