Whats the best method for cyphoning fuel from one car to another ?

Have container to be filled at the lowest position it can be in. I prefer a thinner line to sipon with so that I can feed the thin hose into the tank with an extra amount of line so that when i pull it out the fuel in the line will start the siphon just by putting it lower than the tank fuel. I don't like fuel in my mouth. Also with a thinner line you can have the second container filling and already have the first one emptied into the tank you want it in.
Of course you can always use an electric fuel pump for the transfer.

Are there any type of hand held pumps that are used strictly for this purpose?

I saw one on a commercial. It is a hose with a pump head on it. It looks like a cheasy hose from a gas station. You squeeze the handle a couple of times and it siphons the gas gas itself. I think walmart carries it

A 'Oklahoma Credit Card' has never let me down :D

But, if you would rather, Ive seen them around, its a clear plastic tube that has a metal check valve on one end of it, and you stick it in the tank , give it several shakes, and wa-la, You've got gas(and not the natural type either) graemlins/waving.gif

Electric pumps are always nice, but some cars (newer ones) have a screen at the bottom of the tank

I have used a $15 12V electric fuel pump to pump out the 42 gallon gas tank in my boat at the end of the season. I soldered 6' long extentions onto the power leads so I could set a 12V battery several feet away from the gas tank. I use 3/8" rubber fuel hose. I pump into my pickup gas tank (my outboard motor has oil injection) and use it up so it doesn't turn to varnish over the winter sitting in the boat.
