JWA Jan 22nd, 07, 02:10 PM You know, actually on photobucket when you left click the img tag link on photobucket, the software automatically copies the link to your clipboard. You no longer have to do the photobucket hightlight/ right click step like you show here:
Once the picture is uploaded into photobucket,
You must highlight and copy the IMG string over to the MessageBoard thread.
NOTE: You CAN NOT Copy and paste from the picture itself
YOU MUST COPY THE GREEN HIGHLIGHTED AREA YOU SEE BELOW. (Look Below):
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y178/FunkyuNova66/Photobucket4.jpg
You still use the right click paste or the ctrl-v to paste the link.
Nice work :)
madmax87 Jan 22nd, 07, 02:20 PM 1 more quick detail. If your adding more than one pic, under the Browse button it says "add more images". This allows you do to multiple pic uploads at once. Save's a little time.
FunkyNova66 Jan 22nd, 07, 02:33 PM Good points guys. This instruction is a little dated....(couple of years old). I'll try and update some of the image examples.
BonzoHansen Jan 22nd, 07, 04:00 PM While you are at it, add the part about making the pics smaller by using the Generate HTML... button.
:beers: Nice job.
clwilcox33 Jan 22nd, 07, 04:18 PM If you want to put that all into one document, I'll upload it to my website and like it to the document I have below in my signature. Good work btw.
Buck Jan 22nd, 07, 04:22 PM I like using this "Image Resizer" This PowerToy enables you to resize one or many image files with a right-click. It is a free download from Microsoft.
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
I use it since I host my on web server and can make web friendly images very quickly.
FunkyNova66 Jan 22nd, 07, 05:00 PM If you want to put that all into one document, I'll upload it to my website and like it to the document I have below in my signature. Good work btw.
Thank you. I tried to post it as one post but I had to split it.
Feel free to do whatever you like. Combine the posts and create another thread, sticky it, lock it, change text, examples..whatever you like. I just want to help people. :)
I put it here trying to help the computer newbies... I remember when I first starting using a computer. Man was I lost. LOL.
FunkyNova66 Jan 22nd, 07, 05:02 PM While you are at it, add the part about making the pics smaller by using the Generate HTML... button.
:beers: Nice job.Actually, photobucket automatically resizes pics now. Again, these instructions are a little outdated. I'll see if I can update them.;)
BonzoHansen Jan 22nd, 07, 05:12 PM How?
Actual Size
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v359/SIBLY/beeker.jpg
Small size.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v359/SIBLY/th_beeker.jpg (http://img.photobucket.co.m/albums/v359/SIBLY/beeker.jpg) <-- click to enlarge
I did this with the check box & Generate HTML button...
Why resize, just link to the bigger pic. This is the one feature where Imageshack has them beat.
FunkyNova66 Jan 22nd, 07, 05:48 PM You don't have to resize anymore. I need to delete that section from the instructions. When I wrote them 2-3 years ago, you did have to resize the pics. :o

Beeker is the best!!
BonzoHansen Jan 22nd, 07, 06:47 PM It's not a resizing of the file...it is a clickable thumbnail!
Full Photo:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v359/SIBLY/My77Z28/img3772ny5.jpg
Clickable thumbnail to full photo.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v359/SIBLY/My77Z28/th_img3772ny5.jpg (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v359/SIBLY/My77Z28/img3772ny5.jpg) <-- clickable thumbnail that takes user to full pic.
*Select the pic/pics you want to post as clickable thumbnails - the check box under the pic
*Click the Generate HTML and IMG Code button at the bottom of the page.
*Copy and paste the code in the 3rd box down titled "IMG clickable thumbnails for message boards - recommended"
*Rock on with your bad self...

FunkyNova66 Jan 22nd, 07, 07:10 PM Good deal! Great feedback and advice. Thanks guys.
hopefully people can use this thread.
xplantdad Jan 22nd, 07, 08:20 PM Looks like you had the same idea that I had...LOL
Look here:

By the way...if you are loading more than a few pictures...ftp is the way to go...even the "add more images is too slow:yes:
ftp://username:password@ftp.photobucket.com is the address (just substitute your user name and your password where it says user name and password...This only works if you are a pro user though)
You can also upload videos the same way
