My 69 Z28 has a build date 04C. I'm trying to determine if the top area of the cowl below the cowl cover (Wiper area) should be painted black or body color to the top edge of the firewall. My other Camaro's that I have owned were body color. This car is Daytona Yellow. The car had original paint on it when I bought it 21 years ago. I looked at my old pictures of the car when I stripped the original paint The sides of the cowl are painted yellow however the LS the paint ends at the top seam of the cowl and the RS the yellow ends where the top fender bolt attaches to the cowl. the mid section is all black to the fire wall. This car was unmolested and used as a daily driver and had the original windshield that was never removed. When I restored the car I painted it black. However I am wondering if I should remove the cowl cover and paint the area yellow.

Well, I think my car cowl treatment in the same as a Z. The orange under the cowl is original. So's the firewall paint from top of the engine and out. Hope that helps.
