I have a 68 that originally had manual drums.
I converted it to 69 calipers and power brake
booster. the problem is with the booster rod to brake pedal connection. with the clevis rod backed all the way out and in the hole in the brake pedal for the power booster, the pedal is about 2 inches lower than the clutch. The master cylinder is a bendix power disc/drum type.

Thats normal because of the angle of the booster. Why did Chevy angle them like that? I got rid of my booster.

68 and 69 boosters are different, the clevis rods are a different length.

Manual brake clevis connects higher up on the brake pedal.
The power booster connects on the lower hole, so the booster needs to be at an angle to have a straight push.
Since the clevis is now on the lower hole, it will travel farther for a given pedal movement.
What they are trying to do is get equal to manual pedal height at full brake application. In order to accomplish that, they start the power brake pedal out lower.

does anyone know if there is someone who manufactures a longer clevis rod that would restore the brake pedal height so that it is even with the clutch? THANK YOU everyone for your help. This site is the greatest.
