Anyone know if there is a good shop that can straighten/ rechrome bumpers in the Seattle area? I prefer not to buy the repops, esp. if they are like most aftermarket parts.
About 20 years ago I used a place called victory auto bumpers to redo my first 68, I don't know if they are around anymore, couldn't find any info.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

We used Action Plating in Surrey BC. I know you come up to Mission so this might be an option for you. We were happy with price and quality. http://actionplatingandchrome.ca/home/

I used Art Brass (just south of Kingdome) for most of my car. They do the car stuff on the side, after all their commercial jobs. They have/had great bumper straigthening guys. They usually screw up so you need to plan an extra visit but the result is always very good at average rates. Give yourself a month to six weeks to get your sh!t back.

Cool, I knew you guys would have some ideas

Kevin, cool, thats right up from the Job I'm finishing up in downtown, I can drive by and check them out , and actually so is art Brass, I'll check them out too, thanks Jerome and Denis for that tip (and the honest evaluation Denis)

Micky T, yes, we do go to mission usually a couple times a year, I'll contact them to see what they say. I know there are a more, less expensive places in Canada, due to less EPA restrictions.

Jerry, thanks for the tip on classic chromo, I believe I've talked to them at one of the swap meets in fact. Puyallup is coming up next month, they may be there, it's usually the best meet of the year.

Thanks again for the input guys, I appreciate it :beers:

I don't know how particular you are, you may ask how they prep and finish the back side of the bumper. I purchased a set of bumpers that had been re-chromed on ebay and although the chrome looks good, the back side had rust and rust scale heavy enough you could scrape it of with a putty knife. For my car that's unacceptable. I haven't decided if I'll tape the chrome off and sandblast the rust and paint it or return them.

Right on Jerome, thats real close to home for me, I live just NE of Mill creek.
I know we have a lot of brothers out there again, thats good to see, it's also good to see Boeing coming back so strong, helps everyone in the state. I have a couple of friends there working right now for General, sounds like it's going to be pretty hectic for awhile. I worked there during the last boom, in '97, I worked a ton of overtime.
Right now I'm running work for a company that does lots of work in Seattle, so thats where I've been the last couple of years (Seattle and Bellevue), otherwise I would probably be out there, it's a good place to work, an General is a good company to work for.
Thanks again, talk to you later :beers:

STAY AWAY from the Bumper Shop in L.A.Calif. They come to many N.W, swap meets with there shiny fancy truck. I gave them R/S Bumperettes, R/S grill surround and other misc small parts. After several failed or poor efforts, they were going to hold my parts hostage unless I paid....POOR quality STAY AWAY..............Youve been warned
