No body color overspray anywhere in the engine compartment, except maybe on the very top of the firewall. Top of the cowl will be body color with the center section (over the recess where the wiper arms are) painted the stripe color (on Z28's, Z10's and Z11's). How much of the cowl area was stripe color varied by the two plants. The fenders, hood, upper and lower valance were painted off the car so there would be no overspray form those painting operations, on the inner fenderwells, hood springs, core supports, etc..

If you are asking about the underside of the hood, it should be semi gloss--a little more gloss than the inner fenders/firewall, etc. As far as overspray, I'm not sure, but I don't there is much body color overspray on the underside.

All the front sheet metal (hood, fenders, header panel, inner fenders, radiator support, etc.) went through the same dip-prime or flow-coat black prime and bake system before the outer panels were loaded on the paint buck for sealer and topcoat, so the gloss of the black primer is essentially the same on all the parts. There is little or no topcoat overspray on the underside of the hood - there was only about a one-inch gap between the edges of the hood and fenders when topcoat was sprayed.
