I am going to a auto sawpmeet this weekend & am looking for a set of spoilers for my 69. I also am working on a 68.
Is there a differance between the 68 & 69 spoilers Is there any dimentenal differance or any visual differance between the rear spoilers for 68 & 69?
How about the front spoilers on the 68 & 69?
Thankyou for your time...
Tom

Yes, 68 spoilers are about 3" narrower than 69 spoilers. Although the narrower 68 style spoilers were used on 69's up to February 0f 69 when the longer spoiler spoiler was phased in. Cars built between February and April could have either a short or long spoiler depending on what was on hand the day the car was built.

What size was the rear spoiler on a 67? Also will a vin # say if a camaro had a spoiler or not? I have a stock (not RS or SS) and was thinking about adding a rear spoiler to it. Will adding a spoiler ruin the originality if mine did not come from the factory with it.

I believe the front spoilers are the same for both years.

67's did not come with a rear spoiler. You could have one installed by the dealer, not sure at what date they started.

Mark..
You mentioned that the 68 was narrower than the 69.
Are you refering to the over all length, or the width from front to back?

Length. Mine is a 10D car so it should have the smaller spoiler. I have since changed it over but took lots of pics to show it was there when I bought it.

Ah,,,another story-reminder;
Picture this: A 21 year old kid. (me) My dealer just kicked me out of their service bay with my new Camaro before it RAN OUT OF GAS! (they wouldn't fill it) I had to drive a block to the nearest gas station. It was June. Of course another 69 Camaro was filling too, at the same island. His spoiler was from a 68. He looked at mine and said "I got ripped off!". That was my first 69 Camaro lesson. Then I found out how quick that tank of fuel disappeared because of the L78 and 4:10's.
Then the TigerPaw tires went almost as fast. Still have most of them. And the spare is new and unused,,,,,,,,, (warned you about stories)

67's didn't come with a spoiler hence there is no provisions (holes in the support bracing on the under side)to install a spoiler on a original 67 trunk lid. If you have a nice 67 trunk lid you will ruin its value if you drill the holes to install a spoiler. Having said that it's your car and if the value of a original 67 deck lid on your car is not a issue then add or modify it in any way that appeals to your taste.

Thanks X33D80, but I was asking about the rear spoiler.

The very first posting asked about the front spoiler and I did not see where that question had been answered.

I do believe the 68 front spoiler is different than a 69. 68's didn't originally have support rods from the fender extensions, or the center horn of the sub frame. They did get them added later in production because the spoilers had a tendency to fold back at speed when they aren't supported, but those rods are different lengths than the 69 support rods.

68's aren't my bag so take the info for what its worth.

Does anyone have a measurement for the length of a 68 or 69 rear spoiler?
I would hate to come home with the wrong spoiler.

The "early" ('68-early '69) spoiler is 59" wide, front corner-to-front corner.

Short spoilers look the best PERIOD. The longer ones look like they are sitting to high at the 1/4
