o.k and yeah it's my fault, i've ported and polished my cylinder heads for the first time. i thought it all went very good!! UNTIL NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my heads are already installed with new head gaskets. when i unshrouded the valves, i thought and still don't know if i should of removed that little ridge at the very bottom of the intake valve where the cumbustion chamber just starts to open. i took that ridge out blending it with the chamber. how will this effect my compression ratio and flow. i never took much off, only blended the ridge in smoothly.

won't matter enough performance wise.

any other opinions??? i'd really like to know fur sure. it's the ridge going from the flat surface to the chamber.

Think you are talking about the quench area ridge? How bad, say you blended a 45 degree? How wide? Really hard to say with out pictures. What compression did you have? My guess is it wont make any differance. Especially if you are running pump reg. Might have helped if you were hi on compression to begin with. Got numbers? Which heads?
