I have an 01 coupe that has a bad fuel pump. I am getting quotes of around $350 for a new one,if I do the work. I was wondering if I can just put an electric in line one, leaving the bad pump in the tank.

Mark, post your car questions in the proper section for quicker replies. That sounds like it belongs in ENGINE section. This area is for you to introduce yourself to the folks here and tell us about your car. Welcome to Team Camaro :)

I believe there is not an external fitting your needs. However, check www.summitracing.com as they have aftermarket in-tank pumps, then labor to change must be added.

If there is an aftermarket external pump, it would cost just as much as an OE pump. Don't let the fuel get below 1/4 tank because the fuel is what cools the pump. Occasionally is okay, but not every day.
