Well, after a long and arduous year, and nearing retirement, I was able to get the glass installed. Used a local company who did a fantastic job. They are going to come out and install the trim for me when the paint is done....gotta love that type of service.
Since the glass is installed, now, finally! gonna get it registered and insured....then I can drive it around! :beers:

Gives a new purpose and with this upcoming year, and the anticipated severance package on retirement, should complete the project. It has been a long....long process and a fun one at that. Now that I have more time with all the kids out...in college or married...its ME time....or rather CAR time!:D

I stayed last night here at the motel and will stay again tonight and then leave out tomorrow afternoon headed to Muskogee to see Jr Davis. I have the Bushmaster and the Snipe with me along with ol 45. We went and watched Stetson and Rhett both play soccer in Ness behind the school. Rhett was the goalie for the first half and a runner for the 2nd half. Stetson was a runner for both the first half and the 2nd half. This is the first time Ive seen them since end of march or so. Ember and Stetson both will not leave my side. Emmy caught me sleeping and climbed up behind me and covered up, lol. It was so cute.

ok, got the headliner and sail panels all in....and down, I am pleased with it...although the tough part for me was stretching the rear area as it turns down at the window....kinda tough and I have some wrinkles, but overall I am good with it....and I can honestly say I did it myself:thumbsup:
Only things I forgot to get were the sleeves for the sun visors...DOOOHH. Need to run down to NPD or Classic and get them. Cant really justify spending 5 bucks in shipping to buy a 5 dollar part. Work will take me that way sooner rather than later....

now the BUT....Daughter got engaged to a real nice kid that I really like...glad for her! So, now the wife wants to put the "hold" on the Camaro so I can pay for the upcoming wedding....go figure. I really need to find a second job or some windfall of money...That would be nice:D....

But hey, I will own the Camaro forever, and my daughter will only get married once....so I guess I can divert some monies....wont be the first time its been diverted from the project...:stirpot:

Ok, so decided to blog this headliner out....instead of posting up....spent most of Saturday putting in the headliner, that and watching football..... Took each bow out, cleaned them good, and put them into the headliner. Let that sit in the sun for over 2 hours, and got most of the wrinkles out.....I say most, because the one major fold in the middle didn't come out too well.

Pulled it all tight and glued it down, except for the area near the sail panels...so I have some more room to yank, but so far, seems good. Now just have to heat up the headliner to see if the middle fold will "stretch' out and be good to go. First pics the one with the crease down the middle - inline with the mirror (and a nice view of my dirty garage....:clonk:), and the second shows some of the slight rippling in the seams. Got most of that out when gluing but cant seem to get the last bits out....

http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...4008_large.jpg

Still got to cut out the excess too....so far, I must say that it was not too bad a job, just time and patience....I also figured a shortcut to getting the bows into the clips with the bow sleeve....used bar soap around the cotton near the clip, a little on the clip, slight push up and presto! clip in with the cloth too. Always learning....now gotta hit the rack...work comes early tomorrow...

Now to put all the switches back in and get the dash pad in, probably during this week. Want to attempt to get the headliner in this weekend. Suppose to be warm out and want to lay out the headliner....then go get the bows out, cleaned and then cut the sheaths back, and git-r-done....

As soon as the headliner's in, I will post up some pics....as a regular post, not a blog...although bloggin' is fun too:beers:

This brought up an annoyance of mine, people claiming they have clones such as Z28, Yenko and others but they don't have the correct drivetrain, wheels and other things. They think it's a clone because it has Yenko stripes or Z28 stripes, although IMO, it doesn't warrant a clone.

Yesterday I was having an interesting discussion with my uncles about Don Yenko and his dealership. The discussion was directed to where I was posed a scenario...

"If someone came into the Yenko dealership to order a brand new 1969 Yenko Camaro, looked through the colours that Yenko offered:

Daytona Yellow (code 76)
Fathom Green (code 57)
Hugger Orange (code 72)
Le Mans Blue (code 71)
Olympic Gold (code 65)
Rally Green (code 79)

and said no to them all. The buyer then stated he would only buy a Yenko Camaro if it came in a colour not available on them e.g (Frost Green, Tuxedo Black, Dover White, Garnet Red...) would Don Yenko allow the order to make a sale or reject it and refer the buyer to the available colours?
