Hey Jake, sorry I lost the PM reply u sent me, so I thought Id grab u here again. Yes I am interedted in gettin my hands on a 4l80E, and dont have alot of requirments save these few. First it must be able to handle 600+ HP (might throw a shot of juice on er later on, nothing more than a 150 shot), then I dont want any electrics to worry about, so full manual/reverse pattern WITH COMPRESSION BRAKING!!! I wont make that mistake again. They say my engine starts building TQ @ 1800, so a 2000-2200, or higher tourque converter(but not much...highway traveling is a must),and lastly a chrome pan would be a nice touch.I am on a tight budget, so please keep that in mind.Sorry in case u didnt know, my new engine is a Gen 6, 555ci BBC.
Please either PM me here or email me @ jdbetker@drytel.net
    Thanx Loads...Darren

Hi Jake, My name is Darren Betker (Chevysrule454) and I just purchased a 600hp, 555 gen6 BBC, and you come recomended to discuss a 4l80E.Do u sell these? Dont quite know if u sell them or are just a good source of info.Either way I need help. I want to have an overdrive , as this 555 can get away with a 2000 stall, so highway driving is back in play for my 69.But I want to get away from all the electronics. So what Iv heard is that someone sells a manual valve body to give me full manual (which I would prefer anyway), and get me away from all the electrics. Im not a real brain when it comes to the inner pinnings of said tranny, so any advice would be helpfull. I also wasted allot of the budget on the motor, so the usual ****ty budget ensues. Please PM me here or email me @ ...jdbetker@drytel.net...Sorry for the potty mouth!!

Hello Jake; My name is Don Bartlett, I am in the process of finishing the cleanup and prep work with my friends TH350 I have a question for you if I may. When you add the 5th friction and steel plate(s) to the direct clutch piston, do you take out the OEM "Wavy cushion plate" Just straight up frictions and steels right? Also, after you have done your math and have the piston cut back, after all is assembled you should re-assemble, install retaining clip and have basically .050 clearance right? .010 for each friction per your article?
I have ordered a full B&M transkit, a set of bushings and thrust washers, both new sprag assemblies (the cages and rollers front and rear) and the direct clutch outer gear / sprag 1-2 deal..I ordered a hardened one. I am trying to set this trans up to be reliable with 425 Hp in front of it. Will the 5 disks be sufficient on just the Direct or should I also do the others too? Any help would fabulous. Thank you very much and have a nice day. Don Bartlett
