I have a 69 Camaro street car with a mild 406 SB and headers. What 2.5 inch, 2 muffler, mandrel bent, with balance tube or X, exhaust system would give me a not too loud sound? Something quieter than 2 chamber flowmasters, more like the new factory muscle cars. Also would like to keep the cost below $300.
Check out Summitracing they have plenty of exhaust systems. If you want quiet, remove headers and install stock exhaust transverse system but will cost about 500
plus a 100.00 for exhuast hangers.
I put on DynaMax Super Turbo mufflers to quiet mine down(I had Flowmasters).
They have good tone without being obnoxious.
I'm also running an "H" pipe, but I've heard that "X" pipes would be even quieter.
Dyno Max Super Turbo mufflers give a nice tone at idle and at part throttle cruising. They are not obnoxious at wide open throttle either.I have had a pair on my car for ten years with a 2 1/2'' system.I am happy with the sound.
I have a Summit exhoust for 67-69 camaro. Got it for 150... Nice and quiet with the headers. Had it installed for a 80 bucks. I had to buy the header collectors and gaskets. But great sustem and best bang for your buck...
if my opinion means anything, Walker Dynomax is your answer....unique interior design make the best of both worlds...performanc and sound....and Walker use to have a teriffic warantee
Agree,..the Dynomax Super Turbos sound like a muscle car should. Nice deep tone,..speak softly, carry a big stick.
