Default powder coat question(s)

Has anyone ever powder coated a power steering box? I was thinking about having mine done but I am not sure if there are seals and such inside the box that would not stand up to the heat involved. Also, does anyone know if a roots style supercharger could be powder coated without taking it apart? Thanks again...Jon

Any other pro's and con's are appreciated also.

I wouldnt do the box unless you have the seals out. it might melt them in the oven.

It will melt all seals. It needs to be completely apart down to just the housing to PC it. If that's too much to do, a nice coat of ceramic engine enamel would work great. It's what I did.....and I do PC-ing. It was just too much work for me.

Powder coating is baked on and most "thicker cast" metals need a pre-heat due to out gassing. It will need to be stripped down and cleaned before being coated. Iworked for a powder coating Mfg. for 10 years.
