What's the largest diameter pipe that can fit through the cross brace on a 69 convertible?

I have a 67 vert. and I went with the 2 1/2 inch. I had to space the x-brace out to make it clear.

believe hotchkis makes one that will take 3 inch

I saw that hotchkis extention - but was thinking it would put the brace a bit lower to the ground than I want - this z11 is low to the ground to start with - didn't want to drag things while driving - guess I could have an exhaust shop roll some flats in a 3 inch pipe to fit through there?

The Hotchkis brace is not going to drag unless you are dragging a whole bunch of other stuff as well. It does not really stick down any further than the subframe.

I was running a 2/12" Flowmaster, I have been told my Hotchkis brace will clear a 3", I think though this time I'm going to use a retangular exhaust to clear the brace and get it back to where it goes over the axle and go back to 3" The LS7 needs to breath.

I may look at that then when I get the pipes - really wanted a 3 inch coming off 3 inch collectors


I haven't seen rectangular tubing - seen oval - where do you get that and how's it expected to compare to round for flow?

I have the Hotchkis X brace with the TVS and I have plenty of room. Clearance off the ground and I have a 2 1/2' flowmaster kit with room enough room to go to 3" if needed.

I have a 3 inch magnaflow with the Hotchkis X brace. I had to build a 3/16's spacer to get it to fit. My Hooker headers flange are way lower then the brace.

My 69 Conv has 2.5 with stock brace going to single
flowmaster behind diff. this car sits very low front 22.5 to wheel wells
has 396 front springs/350 crate motor.
wanted single muffler fo keep mufflers off ground and it can hardly seen
sounds good
