I have a question about body number sequencing in 69 Camaros. This one happens to be an X33D80 car.
The Vin # is 124379N6942xx and a body build date of 9E. The body number is 1194xx. This seems like a low body build number given that the car is a late September 1969 build. Did, at some point, GM recycle the body numbers? Thanks in advance for any help. |

The 6942xx VIN sequence number is correct for a very late Sept 69 car. According to my sheet Oct 69 began with 692608 but its an approximation...and according to your 09E car with 6942xx...the sheet i have is off a little.

I think the vin is pretty close but I question the body number sequencing.

August was the start of the new model year so the body #'s were reset then.
They did not get reset when the 'real' 70 model year production began. |
