Default 69 Z28 302 Cross Ram

I've come across the above car for sale, but haven't seen it yet and unfortunately won't be able to for quite some time. I have asked for additional information, but the guy who has it for sale hasn't been too forthcoming.

I don't have any other photos that that. I would just like to know certain things to look for. I've asked if it's the original motor, but no reply yet. What other specific things should I be looking for with type of car to verify originality.

Regards,
Aaron

The list is long as to what to look for. Here's the deal when someone is selling a high dollar collector car like a 69 Z with crossram; it's been my experiecne that guys who want a fair price for their cars are very forth coming with all information. As you would expect for a high dollar car; guys who are not so forth coming are usually hiding something. Not always but I would be very suspect of anyone trying to sell such a car and and not willing to answer any and all questions to a serious buyer.

Now if the guys comes forth and you and see the car my sugestion is to take as many pictures as possible and post them here. You will get the best opinions and advise from this forum. Make sure you get a good close up of the cowl tag (suggest you use the flash as it helps). and also the block pad.

Continue to ask questions and they will get responses.

You need to get Jerry MacNeish involved. Way too much to look for.

BTW a cross-ram adds only its own value assuming it is a Chevy piece. There were no factory installations.

The picture show a flat hood, wouldn't it have a cowlhood if it was a crossram?

Hard to see too but it does look like it is missing Z/28 emblems.

I'm far from an expert, but I think a crossram would go with a flat hood. As far as emblems, these are 40 year old cars... the motor is the main thing.

f.y.i. they made a x-ram cowl plenum air cleaner(s) for the flat hood application for 67 and 68 Z-s and early 69 Z's...and they made x-ram air cleaners for the fiberglass cowl hood and the steel cowl hood for later 69 cars.

Some good info fellas. Thanks.

I will try to get a friend who is in the same city to go have a look for me and try to take a bunch of pictures. As the person isn't a car enthusiast I will have to send her an email of particular places to photograph for me and also to try to see if the original tags are still on it.

My 69 Z has a flat hood with the crossram. Fitting isn't a problem with the thin crossram filter

the seller may have seen too many barrett jackson re-runs

A "69 Z28 302 Cross Ram" is not a model name, it is a Z/28 with a non-original intake system.

good luck with your find as any 1st gen Camaro is worth checking into.

I don't agree. A guy selling a high end car is going to screen the responses and trash the obvious "tire kickers" From that point he"ll probably screen some more and respond to the responses that he feels better suit his selling criteria. Just makes it easier all the way around for everyone involved.

Well, I just received the photos from my friend who went to have a look on my behalf. Unfortunately, I think the guy is dreaming if he thinks to get the amount of money he is looking for it. It was advertised at 1 million pesos which at todays exchange rate works out to around 21000 USD.

Here's a link where I posted the photos. There are a couple extra pictures of some other cars he has for sale, though the yellow one is supposed to be spoken for already. The engine photo is out of the '70. Wasn't able to get photos of the 302, but she was told that it was running?!?! I don't think those are original seats.
