Default No spark

I was trying to adjust the timing on a 63 327 v8 in my pickup. I let my hand off the distirbutor when it was running and it hopped up about and inch now my timing is out of wak. I retimed it to TDC and now i get no spark at all...

Any suggestions?

thanks cody

Chances are you are 180 off on the timing, ie: pointing to #6 vs. #1. If you search there are some good posts on finding TDC on this forum. Then try static timing at ~5-8 btdc and see if she'll start.

Either 180*, or when it "hopped" up about an inch on you, it slipped atooth, and will not now be right without "significant" adjustment to the cap...
I'd pull the distributor, rotate the motor to 12* BTDC and drop the dizzy back in...search for timing on here, and ther eare some really informative tips--helped me about a month or so ago!

And be sure to put the clamp back on there just loose enough to turn it. There is no way it should be able to pop out.
