It's not about being "trendy" that's what Pro-Touring is for. It's about using a product that works. I have used Percy's Dead soft aluminum gaskets for years and re-use them several times. How many times do you get to re-use your stock manifold gaskets? Not knocking your choice I just don't see the point of trying to down talk other member because they use a different product.
Three times, seriously.
Some gaskets are different, I for one do use the rubber 1 piece pan gasket, and rubber valve cover gaskets, they are better engineered and obviously make more sense, rubber repels water and is non porous.
I haven't used the copper or high dollar header gaskets, maybe I shouldn't judge, but passing hot gasses is pretty straight forward (insert fart jokes here), where as oil and water under pressure is an entirely different ball game.
To each his own.

wow, never thought a header leak would get this religious on gasket choices. If the Remflex graphite monsters I bought don't work, I'll try Fel-Pro manifold gaskets. I'm still going to get rid of the 3 bolt collectors at some point and go to ball/cone joints.
