Default Dec 68 Distributor M or L ?

I know I should know this, and it has probably been discussed before, but would a Dec 68 Distributor use the M or the L to designate the month?

8 L 19 for Dec 19.

or as this guy says, 8 M 19

I don't think the letter I is used. J is September. So I think M is December.

For an item with a bid starting at $550 I think they could have posted a better picture.

For 1969 model year, M is used for December on distributors, alternators, starters, and radiator fans. 8M19 is Dec 19, '68 for a '69 car.

Thanks Kurt. I had looked at that info once before, but didn't trust my memory.

Just based on the pictures in the add I would be hesitant. Get better pictures of the stamp.

I think I might have one around here somewhere if you have to have a 68. Shoot me an e-mail to remind me to dig it up. Pulled it last year when I put the MSD in, will have to look at the codes.

Ok, got unlazy, codes are 1111489 8J18
