Default Remove padding from roof

I have removed the majority of the padding by scraping but have some left of course. My thought is to use wire brush on a grinder.

Will wire brush put too much heat in roof, or should a use scotch brite pads on the grinder?

thanks,

Jay

By padding are you talking about the insulation that is between the roof skin and roof supports. A wire brush should not heat the metal enough to do any damage but it does make a lot of dust. Grinding or a emery wheel may.
I 69 they were not aware of the damage that asbestos could do to a person and I have not heard anyone say there is no asbestos in that insulation. If you do use a wire brush be sure to protect yourself and anyone around because we don't know what it is.

thanks Roger. By padding, I mean insulation. I am wearing a respirator and eyewear.

Update
: The wire cup on grinder works great and does not heat up roof panel. Just make sure to wear eyewear and respirator.
