Ha. I doubt a GA rep would have much pull in CA. Haven't you guys ceded from the union?

Everytime we moved we left the house in better condition than we started, cleaned the carpets, fixed things without bothering the Landlord, landscaped the yard etc. and we never got 1 dime of our deposit back and always got a ridiculous charge for cleaning, this, that and the other thing.I know there are Renters out there who know what I'm talking about.
Just hope it works out better for Mark

So maybe I jumped the gun, felt sympathetic for the renter and impulse typed....but I don't believe I deserve personal insults.

Believe me,We were dream tenants Vintage 68
There was no 'personal' attack from me. I was refering to your approach to the problem and said that type of attitude is what's wrong with our country.

You weren't posting an opinion, you were recommending damaging someone else's property to cover up what happened. That's not something a 'very very honest' person would do.

Just my opinion...

Mark

I dont want to start anything but my last apartments charged me a $40 renovation fee when I moved in and kept $60 of my deposit when I moved out saying the carpet needed more than the usual cleaning. I was only there 6 months and if anyone got the carpet dirty it was their own maintenance guys. So it goes both ways.

I appreiciate the clarification,I see now it was all about attitude, that wasn't in your previous post.

I don't see how loosening a valve is "recommending"damaging someone elses property...the damage was already done...unless of course you just let the water run..

I already explained my reasoning for my comments.

Lets put it to rest and hope Mark doesn't get dinged too bad...

the landlord was cool. He said his fix-it guy will be by later in the week to look at it and repair the water damage. He knew it was overlow toilet and was relieved it wasn't the pipes. If I'd made it sound like a bigger problem than it was, he would have paid a plumber to rush over most likely.
