Default Engine Harness Replacement

Looking to replace the engine harness on my 69 RS. Never done this before. where the wires connect to the firewall bulkhead it looks like I will need to access from under the car. Could someone tell me if this is true? And should I order an AAW engine harness with HEI if I have a Pertronix Ignitor II installed? Thank You

The bulkhead connector on the fire wall is a two part connection on that side, on the other the fuse panel connects. AAW makes a top notch original replacement harness under their "Factory Fit" product line that you can alter just as you did to install your ignition system, or use their "Classic Update" line to install a blade fuse style panel. Your best bet is to call them direct with your power requirements and accessories and see what works out best in your situation.

AWW makes nice stuff although M&H is great if you want any mods such as HEI. I just ordered a new harness from M&H modified for HEI and also had them modify it for a passenger side mounted late model alternator, with the correct plug so I could ditch the voltage regulator. Give them a call, they were very helpful. www.wiringharness.com
Also i was able to reach my connector from the top, one bolt holding it together (on a 68 anyway)

Good advice. I replaced my engine wiring with a harness from AAW. When I ordered it, they asked me if I wanted the resistor wire or copper to the coil. The 7/16 bolt can be accessed from under the brake booster and when you unscrew the bolt, the connector will pull out from the firewall. You then need to seperate the engine harness from the power harness. The AAW harness is like GM made it 40 years ago...fantastic.

Thanks for the quick PM on my previous post: http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=181287

This is how it worked out for me... I had it correct in my old posts but it turned out I had a bad coil.
Black to negative side of coil (and green tachometer if required)
Red yellow and pink to positive side of coil
