Default Power steering box. Which port is for high pressure?

Can anyone tell me which of these two ports is the high pressure port and which is the low pressure port? The part number on the casting is 5691676 if the helps.

Return is always closest to firewall on a Saginaw box.

Thanks Steiner. So #1 is the high pressure from the pump and #2 is the low pressure return back to the pump. Is that correct?

Also, my return hose is just hose clamped to the pump return. Is that alright?

You bet. Yep, #1 is high pressure and band clamp is fine on the return.

High pressure lines are always smaller than returns.
