![]() You'll need motor mount adapters, oil pan, headers (some manifolds work), and as said above....best to get a whole donor.

Headers! Forgot about those. I'm planning to keep my 2.5" Magnaflow system.
Thanks Doug Guess I better put better tires on the list too.

Makes me want to buy a ZZ4 crate motor and just put EFI on it if the carb becomes too much of a PITA.......

Well, the price of a decent EFI add-on system is pretty high. Might as well buy a complete EFI crate engine that's been tuned together, or a complete take-out from another car.
A decent EFI add-on is $3000.

I know, plus it doesn't solve the problem of needing an upgraded tank. I just have to make the commitment to drop the $$ and do the LS conversion.

And once you add all the parts that go ON a crate (if it doesn't come with them), a take-out with a tranny sounds better and better. And tons cheaper. But no warranty.

Sure the up front cost is higher, but long term results are much better and you have a car you'll enjoy driving rather than dreading as you watch the gas gauge rapidly move toward empty.

Joe, Dynamaxx's are decent priced....my swap headers were $400 (1 7/8" primaries
)This combo I copied has been 9.8X best in a 2900# car. ![]()

I am planning the same swap and have been collecting parts for the last 5 months. I found this site to be very informative http://ls1tech.com/forums/conversion...ro-basics.html
Looks like the biggest challenge is getting the pan, headers, steering gear and engine mounts to play happy together. I think I will have enough parts and time to get started over the Christmas holidays. |
