My wife complains sometimes about the exhaust smell. She hates after I've been working on the car and had the car running where I smell like exhaust. But she likes going for rides in the car, no complaints from her there.

Part of the exhaust smell problem was I had old leaky headers and exhaust which I replaced two weeks ago. Now I just have to seal up the steering column/firewall hole and I should be exhaust smell free!

No real complaints from people either. The car is kind of loud, but not terrible. Don't really get the exhaust smell unless it's running in the garage or I'm working on it.

Usually people are suprised it rides nice. I'm with Kevin though it is kind of my get away so, no long distance passengers.

You could do some of the following:

1. Offer Kleenex to stuff in their ears.

2. Ask them if they want to walk back if it's too bad.

3. Drop to a lower gear and really let them have it.

4. Put a sticker on the dash that reads: "Shut the @#$ up, sit down and shut up!

5. Put on the radio or whatever, and crank it!

6. Ask them at the end of the ride, "What was it like as it's their last ride".

7. Ignore and ask forgiveness for them.

Any of the above may work for you.
