I have a 1/4" gap (just about) all the way around the rear glass. (give or take 1/32")
67-69 window openings will all be the same. Here's a few pics of when I measured my original '69 rear window opening before removing the roof and tulip (filler) panel. If it's within a 1/16" you'll be fine. The urethane will do the trick for the difference, and your stainless trim will hide it well. ![]() The numbers in the pic read (just in case they are too small to see): HEIGHT: 18 3/8" (at first stainless pin in from ends) and 19 3/8" (down the center of the window opening) I measured parallel to the vertical side of the glass opening (quarter panel edge) and spanned the tape from the first stainless trim pin down to the top-most edge of the tulip (filler) panel. WIDTH: I didn't take any measurements, but I just got them off of my '68 coupe which still has both quarter (sail panels) sections installed. At center of opening (from top to bottom): 46 1/4" wide hope this helps...

Mine is too wide as well- the window has very little bearing on the sides, and the overall width is about 1/4" bigger than what you're showing. I'm going to install some 1/8" stock on either side to tighten the opening, and add a 1/4" strip to the horizontal surfaces to get more bearing. It's bizarre, because the quarters are tight up to the trunk filler, and they tucked under the roof great. Nothing's welder can't fix..... |

THanks Bob... that makes sense. Funny how some posts can have double or even triple interpretations possible. It can be a nightmare... but everything is fixable like you said. The possibilities are endless with a welder. My newest favorite tool!

Im replacing both quarters, trunk filler, and I have just under1/2 inch on both sides, but vertically i have almost 3/4 both on top and bottom. The trunk filler fits good to the quarters, as well as matching drip rails on trunk.

That sounds a little large to me (vertical and sides)... Double-check how the new quarters fit along the drip rails along each sail panel. They should be tight and parallel there.
Also check the positioning of the tulip(filler) panel on the package tray. The window opening ledge should pretty much be centered on top of the package tray welding surface where the filler panel gets plugged to. Try to squeeze the opening down more if possible. Something still sounds out of position IMO.

Eddy, Here's a pic with dimensions of my 67. Roof and tulip panel are original
untouched. Are you working with original or replacement glass ? My glass measures 19-7/8" at the approx. center. I believe it is original.

That is awesome, thank you. i have the same measurements now with some treeking. because of the taper, when i centered it all around the sides ended up closer. I now have 1/2 inch even all around.

You're welcome Eddy. Check your window trim fit also before you call it good.
