Finally! After a long wait, kids growing up and starting to be married off....and retirement, well semi-retired, I found a body shop to take the 68 RS to. Guy has given me a smokin deal, one which I could not pass up! Shop's going to strip it to bare metal, fix any minor stuff, align the body, prep and paint it....and I can come by anytime to work on it....real cool deal for me.

Now the discussion, I was thinking of ghosting the bumble bee stripe, but the wife wants the SS stripes ghosted. Yes I know...happy wife, happy life. I was just wanting to see how many guys have ghosted their stripes, either way. And if you can....photos please!

Going to go with the Corvette Electron Blue like Brian Lewis' 69. just LOVE the color!

I’m a little confused. I thought the bumble bee stripe (IS) for the SS. Do you maybe mean she wants Z28 stripes ghosted instead of the bumble bee? If so, I’m with her, unless it's an original SS car you are having painted. Then I'd stick to the original bumble bee.

Sorry guys...yes the wife wants the Z28 stripes....ghosted, and I was leaning with the SS bumble bee ghosted....

I haven't ghosted stripes in the true sense. I assume you mean painting them on with pearl. I did a red 68 that had the Z-28 stripes in black that I put a red pearl over and if you got at the right angle they disappeared. Even that way was pretty cool.

Just me but Bumble Bee stripes only look good on 67 or 68 RS. That look is nothin but mean.....
