I've done some searching for 67 Camaros running Caltracs with lowering blocks installed and haven't found a definitive answer to my question. A couple of years back I changed out the mono leafs (with slapper bars) to Hotchkiss 1.5 drop leafs and no slapper bars and didn't have any issues with wheel hop. This last year I switched out the 14 inch rally wheels to some Vintage wheel V45's 16 inch wheels and some Falken 255/50 tires(same overall diameter as the BFG radials that were on the 14 inch rims). To achieve the ride height I was looking for, I added a solid 1 inch lowering block and since then, I get occasional wheel hop. I'm assuming I'm getting the axle wrap from adding the lowering block or possibly the rubber compound on my tires? My question is do any of you run a similar set -up (Caltracs with lowering blocks) without wheel hop? I just would like to know how good my chances are of eliminating the wheel hop before shelling out the money.

Caltracs with 1.5" lowering blocks. No wheel hop whatsoever. Make sure you use cast iron blocks.

I run Caltracs with a 1" lowering block, no wheel hop whatsoever. They will eliminate your wheel hop.

Thanks guys, that's what I was hoping for. With the new TKO almost broken in, I can't afford to have any type of wheel hop when I'm finally ready to stomp on it 100%.

You can buy springs from Calvert Racing (Caltrac) that are already lowered if you want. I went that route, but not drive time on that car yet. I wouldn't be afraid to use a block.

i run hotchkis lowering springs and caltracs, zero wheelhop, although ground clearance with their 2 hole version is pretty bad.

I am so happy with my caltracs and Calvert split leaf mono springs. When I talked to Calvert racing they said if the height is wrong you get one free trade in to send back the rear half of the spring to adjust the height. I went from crazy stock mono wheel hop to none at all.
