Hi Guys,
I thought I was going to build another 68 Camaro, but I am in the middle of a 55 Chevy Nomad project and the 68 project is unlikely. I have a 28,000 mile drivetrain from a wrecked 68 Camaro SS. The car was rolled over in 1970 according to the owner. I bought the drivetrain back in 2003 and since I have not used it yet, I am probably not going to. The 396 has a MW Code (4 Speed 325 hp), M20 4 Speed and 12 Bolt with 3.07s and a Posi. All pieces are dated in the middle of 1967 for an early 68 build. The motor is complete from carb to pan. What is this combo worth? Thank You for the input.

I don't know but if I was at a different point in my restoration (not almost done) and didn't have my original motor/tranny I'd so make an offer on it.
My guess is 3-4k for the motor, 1000 for the bellhousing/clutch/tranny and 1500 for the rear. As a package you may get more.

Hi Jason,
If I don't find a 68 Camaro to install this drivetrain, I hope that it does eventually find its way into another 68 Camaro. Thank You for your input.

What is the partial VIN on the block and M20?
You might want to post it on the CRG orphans page. http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?board=12.0 There is a small chance someone could have the car and be looking for the drivetrain. I know, small chance, but unless you saw it crushed, it could be out there.

Hi Bryon,
You are absolutely correct. The Transmission was not stamped with a partial V.I.N. The pad on the 396 reads: T1012MW 18N335798 T - Tonawanda (NY) Engine Plant 1012 - October 12, 1967 MW - 396ci/325HP L35 Manual Transmission

Well that is about 5 weeks after my car. Close, but no cigar.

I am guessing that the SS that the drivetrain was removed from was probably a 10C or 10D build.
I am sorry that I can't help you. I just want this drivetrain to find a home in another 68 Camaro.
