Got my new shiny horseshoe shifter and all necessary hardware to install.( see pics) Now I went to install tonight with new bolts and what ever you call those aluminum columns there in. I had no idea how to install or how to use the tools to install. Can any one at all please help me out here??? Im stuck!

Hey Brad... looking great so far!

To install those shifter riv-nuts into the new floor:

1. locate and mark out the position of the shifter where it will mount to the new floor.
2. Drill out the four mounting holes for the shifter riv-nuts using a drill bit that is just one size smaller than the diameter of the riv-nuts themselves. Drill perfectly perpendicularly to the floor to get a nice round hole for each one. You want these riv-nuts to be tight!
3. Push each riv-nut into each drilled hole.
4. With a lockwasher, then a flat washer slid onto the long brass-colored hex bolt, thread that through all the way down until it bottoms out snugly, but not crazy-tight yet...
5. Slid on the other lock washer and flat washer underneath the transmission tunnel on the end of that bolt, then thread on the nut as well.
6. As you tighten that nut at the end of the long hex bolt, the riv-nut will slowly crush and expand around the edge of the newly-drilled hole, causing it to bulge slightly and tighten into the hole.
7. Then loosen the nut and remove the hex bolt.
8. Install the shifter.

Any time.... just tighten it down slowly not to possibly strip that hex bolt or nut they provide. It should work fine...

Finally got a chance to get back at it. Switched geaers a little and decided to do a little body work while I wait on the funds for a new wiring harness. So now entire car is ready for last coat of primer after much, much , much blocking. Finally got hood on, installed new steering wheel wich looks great. (trying to keep the motivation high lol) just needing to line fenders and hood up a little more. Im thinking american auto wire for the wiring harness. Heard good things about this kit. Has any one used it before? any comments?

Installed new carpet, shifter, ignition and custom steering wheel. Starting to look like a real Car. Just got in the new complete wiring kit from american auto wire. This set up is amazing!!!!!!. Cant wait to get it installed. Hoping to hear the car for the first time this weekend. Wish me luck.

This is my first interior experience. So far so good. I know a good looking interior makes a huge impact on overall look of the car. Everything will be new and looking good so im pretty excited bout it.

After several days of wiring im almost done!!...Finally. I read some where that a person could rewire one of these cars in a good eight hour day with this kit.. If so you are the MAN!!! lol
