Hey guys, I have an original 6 cyl car that now has a SB 400. I bought all the components to make the cowl induction hood operational but I am not sure how the throttle arm attaches to the accelerator pedal. I am currently running a throttle cable and the accelerator rod that goes through the support bracket mounted on the firewall is not long enough to mount the throttle arm to. It is barely long enough to put the E-Clip on. Do I need a different accelerator setup or will this even work with a cable setup? I'm stumped on how to attach this arm to the pedal.

Six cylinder and V8 have different throttle assemblies. Not sure what all you've got now but here's a list of different setups.

I think you may only need the $34 thru firewall accelerator rod for a V8.

Thanks. That was what I was thinking but I'll need to weld the cable arm onto it.

You shouldn't need to weld anything. The new throttle arm (under hood) just clamps to the new accelerator rod. Then you need the linkage and little bushings for a few bucks to connect between the carb and new throttle arm. You will no longer use a cable.
If you wanted to retain the six cylinder accelerator rod and cable operated throttle, you could use a nitrous throttle switch mounted inside the car instead of the one that mounts using the new cowl induction throttle arm, and not use the new arm at all. All you're looking for is a switch to make under full throttle.

I appreciate all the help. I've looked through a bunch of catalogs and ebay and can't seem to find this linkage.

gas pedal and arm for cowl hood
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1969-Camaro-...263579&vxp=mtr cowl switch http://www.ebay.com/itm/1969-Camaro-...c92baf&vxp=mtr You'll also need linkage from arm to carb, groment, wire harness and relay. I'm sure someone has this in a kit, just not finding one at the moment. |

Thank you. I've got all the cowl induction parts. I was just missing connecting the throttle arm to the carb. I've for an edelbrock carb and intake so I'll have to figure out how to make this linkage work. I really appreciate all of your help.

Here is the grommet that goes in the throttle arm. You may need two, one in the arm and one in the carb.
http://www.rickscamaros.com/camaro-c...1967-1969.html I'm using this for a throttle linkage but my throttle setup is similar to a Holley. There are universal ones as well that you just bend as needed (carefully) although this one can be bent a tad. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/oe...t/model/camaro
