NASCAR's job is to promote racing and sell seats. Danica wins the pole , it was on every network today. All free advertisement for the 500 next week. Dale Jr. wins the firecracker the same year his Dad was killed. Richard Petty wins # 200 the same race President Reagan came to watch. The fix is on. I hope NASCAR has her change a motor
so she can start in the back. At least if she's in the back she won't take out half the field when she crashes. I don't want to tick anyone off but this is the truth.

I hope she wins the thing, it would be great. She's got spunk and let's face it, she's hot to trot.

I can't stand the way Darrell and many other broadcasters have acted like she is completely out of her element since she got into NASCAR a couple or three years ago. Like Rob said, she's been wheel to wheel 3 wide at 180 plus a bunch in the IRL, this NASCAR deal can't be any more harry than that.

I suddenly feel more rejuvenated about the NASCAR stuff.

Indy 500 qualifying speeds are 220+ MPH. Indy cars while "safe", have little to no "car" around them like a Sprint Cup car has. The drivers feet are in front of them, with a few inches between their seat and the asphalt.

Finishing in the top 5 in any Indy type car is no small feat.

The fastest (they've slowed the cars down) unoffical lap speed is 239 MPH.

I don't care for her at all, can't stand her attitude, but no one can dispute she can drive. With that said I bet there are drivers no one has heard of driving on dirt tracks right now that are better drivers than her and more deserving of a ride, but not a good looking (ok IMO) female. Thats the nature of NASCAR though, and one of the reasons I lost interest in it.
I don't really care if she wins or not, but look at her history, that car of hers will be on a wrecker by the end of the race (hopefully she doesn't get hurt). Of course I could be wrong, it's happened before.
