there is a random knocking in the left front of this car. the whole LF suspension was replaced due to my girl whacking a curb doing burnouts. its sporatic, and everything is tight and the car drives straight and feels safe. two shops and myself have investigated and found nothing...any ideas? it sounds as if the exhaust pipe is banging around, but is obvi. not...its driving me nuts.

Since you posted in 4th Gen, this is what I would do,
Support the car with jack stands to remove the weight from the front wheel in question. Then, using a spring compressor, compress the strut spring enough to remove the tension from where it is sitting. Then, grab any part and shake it. Grab the next item, shake it. Continue until problem is found. Normally, everything should be tight. The loose part found is your problem.

u replaced the suspension... if the wack was big enough to damage that, then there would also be damage to the rim, tyre, and very good possbilty to the stub axle assembly, bearings and calipar backets.
All of these should have been replaced without question also.

Look at the body seams and their sealer for separation.
Look at the body seams/parts for rubbing, witness marks, tearing, etc.
