This project is a learn as I go. I learned how to put the front end together from books & you tube. It is also a paycheck to paycheck build, so I try to spend only what I really need & not go overboard. I appreciate all thoughts, comments & tips.

Plans have changed so many times for this car. 1st I wanted to do a Yenko clone, Orange with white stripes. Then it was a big block drag car, yellow with white stripes. Then it was a full on pro touring, LS1, Silver or Black. Now I am leaning towards a resto mod/COPO look, slightly lowered, eventual small block w/overdrive trans. I think I am going to go with the original Glacier blue, no stripes with the original dark blue standard interior. I would like to be able to drive it all summer. If I don't do the COPO look, I'm going to go with 17 in. Torque Thrust M wheels. The fron has the disc brakes & I'll likely stick with the original drums on the 10 in rear. I will upgrade to a posi unit. So that is the basic plans. - Dave

Some future questions to ponder. The car is an original spoiler delete car.
1. Should I buy a new decklid & add a spoiler or go original with no spoiler? (Other option is paint both deck lids)
2. Stay with the original Glacier blue paint with no striping or the darker blue with white stripes? (Z28 clone)
3. 15 in rally or 17 in Torque Thrust "M"
I know this is very distant, but it is fun to discuss & think about.

I read the first 25 pages of you build, I see you were on a budget too. (At least up until where I read to.) You also had some similar questions that I have. I am doing most of the work myself except for some blasting/Powder coating. I went through a Silver/Black stripe phase until I found out a good friend of mine painted his Silver/Black. As soon as I got it I wanted to paint it Orange w/White stripes & I still think about it. The thing is they look great in every color. I don't ever see Glacier blue which is why I'm leaning that way.

I look forward to reading the next 25 pages of your build. Reading the "builds" truly is inspirational.

Some more photos:
I upgraded the steering box from the Constant Ratio, 4 To 4-1/2 Turn, to a variable ratio 3.0 turns lock to lock from HBC.

After researching on these forums, I think I am going to go with the 3 leaf spring that does not need any modifications to replace my mono leaf springs. Here is a link: http://www.sdtrucksprings.com/index....FWJlMgodsVwAVA
